Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine's unpaid results—often referred to as "natural", "organic", or "earned" results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users; these visitors can then be converted into customers. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. So, why to optimize? SEO will increase the visibility, will drive traffic and website will appear on the top positions in the search results page!
It is changes that you make to a website, for it appear on first positions of search results.
Aim is to get highest "organic" results for relevant keywords. Keywords research is something what a SEO specialist must conduct before he/she even starts to optimize your website.
"Organic" search results, means that you don't pay to advert your website, you don't pay if a customer clicks on the link and goes directly to the website.
But my goal as a SEO specialist is not only to improve your website's visibility in search engine results and attract any traffic, but to drive quality traffic, that will convert to your site. Not every traffic is a quality traffic. For example, if you have 1000 visitors a day to your site, but the conversion rate is 0,001 %? It does't sound right, does it?
To drive quality traffic, your website must be optimized to rank for relevant keywords. If you sell cars, it probably not the best idea to try to rank for "cheap food" search quires. It won't give you any conversions, even if a visitor goes to your website, he will leave in a second, realizing that it is not relevant for him.

A well-planned SEO strategy that drives high quality traffic ( that will cause a high conversion rate) takes time. But definitely it worth all the time and energy, because you will get high visibility, high-quality traffic and high conversion rate. And of course, increase of revenue, is the main goal of any marketing campaign and strategy.
